HOPPY SAYS,

“Support your local craft breweries!”
There are four Indiana craft brewery locations not far from the track. These would be Speedway City Garage – Pax Verum Brewing (.2 mile), Daredevil Brewing (.6 mile), Big Woods Speedway – Home of Quaff On! Brewing (.8 mile), and Guggman Haus Brewing (3.1 miles). Each of these locations also serve food, so you can graze will you sip. Guggman Haus may be of special interest to race fans because of its location at the historic Boyle Racing Headquarters.
Hoppy visited the Speedway City Garage today and quaffed a Pax Verum Speedway City West Coast IPA. Described as an IPA brewed for the love of speed, perfect for race day. It is brewed with Magnum, Idaho 7, Mosaic, Simcoe and Sabro hops. 6.5% ABV, 65 IBU.
Prior to the race last year, he visited the other locations and enjoyed the following beers:
Daredevil Lift Off IPA – Described as containing a bounty of American hops which deliver the signature clean and crisp finish of a perfectly balanced West Coast IPA. 7.2% ABV, 72 IBU.
Quaff On! Quaff IPA – Described as featuring a complex malt bill that creates a semi-dry finish that balances malty sweetness with a hops selection that creates intense citrus aroma and flavor with notes of melon, berry, lime, passion fruit and papaya. 6.5% ABV, 58 IBU.
Guggman Haus The Riverside New England IPA – Made with a variety of eight hops and described as a hazy, juicy beer that provides a major punch of citrus flavor. Bronze medal winner at the World Beer Cup 2025. 6.9% ABV, 41 IBU.

Heading Home:
It can be worth it to check out the beer aisle at Costco, where I have often found cases of Three Floyd’s Zombie Dust for sale. (I have been known to place six 6-packs in a well-labeled and sealed box for transport in airplane baggage, with no issues.)
If you are flying home, you may wish to arrive at IND early so that you can indulge in some Indy beers and some non-airplane food prior to your departure. Circle City Beer Garden is located in the Civic Plaza section of the airport and is open to the public daily from 11:00am-10:00pm. Sun King and The Tap have locations in Concourse B which is only available to ticketed passengers. They are both open daily from 7:00am-9:00pm. You’ll find Sun King near gate B-13, and The Tap near gate B-17.

Hoppy’s last visit on his Southwest tour was at Peticolas Brewing. It was founded in 2011 and was one of the first two breweries to open in Dallas. Founder Michael Peticolas is a lifelong FIFA World Cup fan and the brewery will be showing most of this year’s matches, including those in Dallas, in their taproom.
During his visit Hoppy quaffed a Sit Down Or I’ll Sit You Down Imperial IPA. The intent of this beer is to exhibit the fresh and bright character of the hops. The hop flavor is intense, fresh and lively. It is balanced with an ever-present malt character that provides a tremendously full mouthfeel. Finally, the alcohol in this beer is intentionally present and delicious. Check out the interesting story behind this beer’s name here. 10% ABV, 90 IBU.
Pictures follow:

Hoppy attended Pickle Fest during his next visit at Martin House Brewing. The brewery was founded in 2013. They place an emphasis on high quality beers and sustainable practices. Their motto is, “Made in Texas by Texans”.
During his visit, and in honor of Pickle Fest, he quaffed a couple of pickle beers, one of which was Best Maid Lemon Pepper Sour Pickle Beer – This was first tapped during this event. 4.7% ABV.
The other beer was Best Maid Strawberry Lime Sour Pickle Beer. This was also new for this year’s festival. 4.7% ABV.
Pictures of the brewery and the Pickle Fest follow. Hoppy arrived early due to rainy weather, and some pictures were taken before the event actually started.

On Rotation Brewery & Kitchen was the next visit for Hoppy. They opened at their original location in 2015 and moved to their current location in 2021. Working with a three-barrel system, they produce an ever-changing lineup of craft beers and seltzers, along with featuring other local craft breweries and other exceptional beers on their 40-tap system.
Hoppy imbibed their following brews during his visit:
Thai Tea Golden Ale – Described as tricked up with additions of tea, sweet cinnamon, vanilla, orange zest, and star anise. Lactose brings in a smooth sweetness that pairs with the bready, malty body and gives the spice and citrus room to shine. 8% ABV, 17 IBU.
Jalapeño Saison – On Rotation’s signature saison, described as having a jalapeño nose giving way to a tortilla chip breadiness with a crisp, effervescent finish. The touch of pepper heat fades quickly providing the rich, full experience of a jalapeño pepper without a lingering burn. 7.8% ABV, 25 IBU.

Celestial Beerworks was the next stop on Hoppy’s tour. They opened their doors in the fall of 2018. They are a family-friendly and pet-friendly brewery offering small-batch rotating seasonal beers and are known for specializing in New England-Style/Hazy IPAs. One of their beers, Jerzy, honors the life and legacy of a holocaust survivor.
While there, Hoppy enjoyed an Astrophage Hazy Double IPA, a collaboration with Jester King Brewing. It is described as being loaded with Cryo Fresh Krush, Riwaka Hop Kief and both Idaho 7 and Mosaic hops, The Cryo Fresh, from Yakima Chief, is a process where they essentially freeze the hop matter right after processing so that it keeps its earthy, wet, bold harvest freshness. 8% ABV.

Hoppy’s next Southwest stop was at False Idol Brewing. Their beers first hit the market in 2019, and they opened their doors in 2020. They state that their focus is on creativity, consistency and quality. The brewery won the 2025 Texas Craft Brewers Cup Brewery of the Year.
During Hoppy’s visit they were running a High Times Flight promotion, and he sampled two of those beers:
Chromatic Drift New England Pale Ale – Brewed with King Louis XIII terpenes. 5.2% ABV.
Phantom Frequency New England Double IPA – Brewed with Peach terpenes. 8% ABV.
He also enjoyed a glass of Life of an Outlaw West Coast DDH Double IPA – Brewed with Simcoe, Citra, Nectaron & Idaho 7 hops. 8.2% ABV.
