Yesterday evening Hoppy visited Roots Burger Bar in Carmel. They also operate a location in Muncie. (Their main investor is Scott Wise who formerly owned Scotty’s Brewhouse and Thr3e Wise Men Brewing.) They have twelve beers on draft, most of which are craft brews from Indiana. It was Hoppy’s lucky night as they feature draft pints on Thursday for only $3.00.

While there, Hoppy enjoyed a WarPigs USA Foggy Geezer New England/Hazy IPA. It is described as being created with citrus and tropical hop varieties being gathered en masse. 7.3% ABV, 69 IBU.

On Monday Hoppy visited the Fork + Ale House Kitchen & Brewery in Carmel. They began operation in 2019 and recently became under new, local ownership. While there, Hoppy imbibed a Bagpiper Scottish Ale clocking in at 6.9% ABV, 19 IBU.

Hoppy visited Northern Tropics Brewing yesterday. They are a 3.5 BBL nano brewery that opened their doors in 2022. They had twenty-one of their brews on tap. While Hoppy was there, a group was experimenting with a smoker kit and torch to determine how their glasses of beer would taste with various smoke flavors added.

Hoppy sampled the following beers during his visit:

Whack Dammit Double IPA – 8.1% ABV, 85 IBU.

Mango Cream Ale – 5.3% ABV, 14 IBU

Belgian Tripel – 8.3% ABV, 32% IBU

Midnight Run Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout Collaboration w/ Four “I”s Homebrew Club – Aged for 11 months in a Wellers barrel. 13.1% ABV, 68 IBU.

He also enjoyed quaffing the following pints:

Undead Ted American IPA – Brewed with Cryo Citra hops. 6.5% ABV, 50 IBU.

Ted’s Breakfast Porter – 8% ABV, 22 IBU.
