HOPPY SAYS,

“Check the Events Calendar to find the upcoming Beer Events!”
After missing Hogfest earlier this summer, due to the high heat and humidity, Hoppy ventured out to Hog Molly in Columbus, IN yesterday to knock back a cool one! In this case it was a Hog Molly 2-A-Days Session Lemon IPA clocking in at 4.3% ABV with 45 IBU. He also sampled their Hog Molly IPA at 7.2% ABV and 78 IBU, as well as their Double Tight Double IPA hovering at 8.9% ABV and 100+ IBU. If you haven’t already guessed it, much of the Hog Molly vibe is related to football. They also have a good sense of humor, as evidenced by their signs. Pictures of the taproom follow.
Hoppy visited Primeval Brewing in Noblesville on Saturday. While there, he imbibed a Maxwell International IPA clocking in at 6.4% ABV, 81 IBU. It is named after the Maxwell Motorcars dealership that opened in their taproom space in 1912. Maxwell can be seen painted on the old brick wall in the bar area, which adds to the history of the brewpub. Photos follow.
Hoppy attended the Bier Brewery/Two Chicks & A Hammer Parking Lot Party at Bier Brewery – Indy on Friday evening to celebrate their collaborative beer release. The beer is named Porch Party and it is a session tart ale with lime and salt. It is 4% ABV, 6.3 IBU. More information on the event can be found here. The party included a meet & greet with Mina Starsiak Hawk of Two Chicks & A Hammer and other members of the HGTV Good Bones TV show. Pictures from the event follow.
On Friday afternoon Hoppy made a quick stop at Books & Brews to quaff a Rad Brewing Half Cycle IPA at 6% ABV, 72 IBU and sample a Books & Brews, A Barrel to Arms Bourbon Barrel Aged Scotch Ale at 8.8% ABV, 32 IBU. He was happy to see his sticker on their sticker wall!
I visited Goodwood Brewing’s recently opened location in Indianapolis last Thursday where I enjoyed dinner and a flight of their beers. The ales that I sampled were Bourbon Barrel Ale, a dark ale at 6% ABV, 33 IBU; Bourbon Barrel Stout, a double stout at 8% ABV, 33 IBU; Goodwood IPA at 6.9% ABV, 67 IBU; and Ales for ALS IPA at 6% ABV, 40 IBU.
Should the location look familiar, it is the former location of The Ram. Pictures follow.
